How to get started
Six simple steps
We take the time to understand your child, educate your family, and share resources so your child can thrive.
Notice a need
Your child’s physician may recommend a speech, occupational, or feeding therapy evaluation, or you may have concerns about your child’s development. Check our milestones or request a free developmental screening.
Get a referral
A physician’s referral is required before an evaluation. Ask your child’s physician to fax it to our office at (318) 550-4058.
Insurance verification
Before the evaluation, our team checks your insurance benefits (deductible, copay, coinsurance, and exclusions) and walks you through what is covered, so we can make a financial plan together if needed.
Scheduling & intake forms
We’ll get you scheduled and send two sets of forms to complete before your visit: patient intake (consent, HIPAA, and clinic policies) and therapy intake (birth, medical, and developmental history, plus your child’s strengths and your concerns).
Evaluation
We complete evaluations over two visits, so your child has time to get comfortable. Your therapist uses standardized testing, informal testing, and observation, reviews your intake with you, and shares results and recommendations.
Therapy begins
If therapy is recommended, we build a plan of care around your child’s goals and your family’s priorities, then partner with you every step of the way.
